ThePiano.SG is honoured to have been invited by People's Association to deliver a piano performance at the Luncheon of 6th Meeting of Governors/Mayors of Asean Capitals (MGMAC) on 7 July 2018. This event, held at the Parliament House, was the latest instalment of the event and was hosted by Singapore this year. It was attended by over 40 delegates from the 10 Asean nations, and was chaired by Mayor Low Yen Ling, with Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources as Guest of Honor.
ThePiano.SG Online Store was launched in January 2018, and features the largest collection of piano-themed piano products and gifts, including jewelleries, stationeries, fashion accessories, fashion apparels, bags and travel-related items. Over two days, 7-8 April 2018, a most elaborate pop-up stall, complete with the offerings from ThePiano.SG Online Store, was set up to showcase the wide range of piano-themed products and gifts that ThePiano.SG carries. Moving on, there are two more upcoming Pop-Up Stall events we are also involved in, and we would love to see you there - (i) 7 - 13 May 2018, Bedok Point, and (ii) 9 June 2018, Serangoon Gardens Country Club.
It was with great honour that ThePiano.SG was involved in the unveiling of two pianos at Tanjong Pagar Centre on 4 February 2018. We were interviewed, and we are delighted that the interview has appeared in the Tanjong Pagar Centre’s online magazine, Stories By TPC, titled "Music In The Key Of C".
Michelle SgP is a multi-talented musician. She hails from Singapore but has the unique ability to create her own style that resonates with global listeners. She has just released her most ambitious project, Multiplicity. This album is the product of working in close coordination with up to 68 individuals, from their 20s to their 70s, in multi-genres spanning 10 nationalities. It records the essence of her travels over the years as she sourced for inspiration and the right people to put the album together.
As a testament to the role that ThePiano.SG has played in connecting people in the piano community, we have been featured in Casio Music Circle Newsletter Issue #03. The Casio Music Circle Newsletter is a publication from Casio Singapore, targeted at users of its electronic pianos, and it is our honour to have been interviewed for a feature. This interview with Casio Singapore comes hot on the heels of our appearance in Challenge Magazine, the publication of the Public Service Division, Prime Minister’s Office, and more recently, another appearance in Singapore’s national daily The Straits Times.
ThePiano.SG’s vision is to be the leader in connecting people in the piano community. Far from being just an online portal, ThePiano.SG conducts face-to-face events that allow pianists, piano music lovers and just about anybody related to the piano to meet, bond and network. Two months ago, Pianovers Meetup was featured in the Challenge magazine, the publication of the Public Service Division under the Prime Minister’s Office. It is then, truly, a feather in the cap when Pianovers Meetup has now been featured in the national daily, The Straits Times!
As an important step in giving back to society, ThePiano.SG has rolled out a social initiative known as Pianovers Assist which provides assistance to needy Singaporeans so that all Singaporeans, regardless of their financial background, can benefit from the best opportunities in piano education. Zafri was the first beneficiary under the Pianovers Assist programme.
Since ThePiano.SG was founded, we have been engaging in our vision to be the leader in connecting people in the piano community together in Singapore. Over the past two years, we have been holding regular events for passionate piano lovers - affectionately known as Pianovers, and growing the local piano community. We are, of course, extremely delighted when ThePiano.SG was featured in the July/August issue of Challenge magazine.
It was such a magical moment, being to attend Adam Gyorgy's concert with a group of such well-dressed and passionate Pianovers, and to take a group photograph before Adam’s large standee. Although the concert was over, Pianovers could not help but reminisce about the evening, as they made their way to Toast Box for a post-concert supper where they continued to bond and bind, and to share their views about music.
Following the series of the Pianovers Meetups and other events such as the Pianovers Sailaway and most recently, the Piano Jamming Party, organised by Casio, at Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Pianovers who are regulars at the Meetups and have become close friends, organised an exciting new event of their own – Pianovers Jammers Night!
After months of anticipation, ThePiano.SG’s inaugural yacht event, Pianovers Sailaway, finally arrived. On 4 December 2016, Pianovers, along with support crew, descended upon the ONE°15 Marina Club at Sentosa Cove for the yacht outing that would bring them out into the open sea. What would transpire in the next four hours would turn out to be the event that would become the occasion of a lifetime.
ThePiano.SG never fails to bring the piano community together in novel ways and to savour interesting experiences, and so it was with great excitement that the portal organises the first piano-themed yacht outing for Pianovers in Singapore - Pianovers Sailaway!
ThePiano.SG is proud to present the following interview with acclaimed performer Kevin Kern after his concert here in sunny Singapore on the 10th of September, 2016, at 8pm, at the Star Theatre. Kevin is an American pianist and composer, and is generally recognised as a representative of the new-age style of music.
The most recent piano outing was greeted with a cozy enthusiasm as familiar faces gathered at Maxwell Food Centre for a pre-outing catch-up and dinner. Food were shared and laughter was spread as Yong Meng and the teachers discussed the topic of the day – sight reading, firmly agreeing on the importance of the skill in any piano students’ life.
Returning to the Esplanade for the third time this summer for their upcoming concert “The Forte Awakens”, Anderson and Roe will be bringing their exhilarating rendition of pieces from the Star Wars fantasies to delighted fans, and ThePiano.SG had snagged an exclusive interview with The Piano Duo to understand their inspiration and vision for their music.
ThePiano.SG, founded by Sng Yong Meng, held its first gathering for its family of piano teachers on 1 May 2016 at Kiseki Japanese Buffet Restaurant in Orchard Central. Coming only two months after the teachers listing was created and hosted by Yong Meng, it was an evening of fun and sharing and attended by piano teachers Chng Jia Hui, Charlotte Ong and Pauline Tan.
On 13 Nov 2015 1pm, at the Steinway Spirio Lounge in Palais Renaissance, Orchard, invited guests were present to witness Congyu Wang, a young and talented Singaporean pianist, share his new CD Release titled, Charme. Congyu, who is also a Young Steinway Artist, performed selected pieces on a Steinway Spirio, the world's finest high resolution player piano.
