About Me:

I’ve been a church’s pianist for more than 15 years where I enjoy chords improvisation and harmony. With experiences in piano accompaniment for bands and pop song playing, I am passionate to teach students from a chords and improvisation perspective, while also building on important technical foundation.

I see great value in helping students understand how improving their aural and sight-reading skills can reinforce all aspects of their learning. With guidance, students connect what they sight-read, to the sound they heard following their hand action. They are then able to transcribe the music accurately onto the whiteboard based on their memory. Using mental play, students retain a perfect version of the music stored in their minds and all mistakes are eradicated during playing as all mistakes originates from the mind.

As a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, I’m passionate about helping each student discover his/her strengths and develop his/her potential in life. I love to customise my teaching style according to each student and to motivate them according to their learning style and interests. With the use of flashcards, interactive activities on the whiteboard, listening to music, transcribing music, and using the LCD writing board for doodling of concepts and takeaways, I strive to make every piano lesson engaging and fun so that students enjoy every lesson and look forward to the next one.
