Fourteen-year-old Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Joey Alexander presents an evening with his trio, featuring songs from his highly anticipated second album Countdown.

Building upon the swing and improvisational style that made his debut My Favourite Things a critical and popular success, Countdown reflects the growth and maturity of Joey Alexander as an artist, and a confident next step toward a limitless future as a jazz bandleader.

Bali-born Alexander learnt jazz from his father, and developed at such a remarkable pace that by age eight, he was invited by UNESCO to play solo piano for Herbie Hancock. The following year, he won the grand prize at the Master-Jam Fest in Ukraine and went on to perform at jazz festivals at Jakarta and Copenhagen. At 11, an invitation from Wynton Marsalis led to his debut at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. Today, the Joey Alexander Trio has performed at well-known venues and major festivals around the world.

"There has never been anyone that you can think of who could play like that at Joey Alexander’s age. I love everything about his playing—his rhythm, his confidence, his understanding of the music."
