Adam Gyorgy: World-renowned pianist with a heart for musical education returns to play at Esplanade Concert Hall

The prestigious Steinway artist will be performing in Singapore at the Esplanade Concert Hall on 21 April, having played in multiple sold-out performances at the Carnegie Hall, Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Canada, Palace of Arts in Hungary, and Esplanade Concert Hall.

As part of his 2017/2018 World Tour, Adam returns to the Esplanade Concert Hall with a poetic programme with works of Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt and his own improvisations. The New York-based Hungarian is recognised as one of today’s finest pianists in the world, especially for his Franz Liszt interpretations.

Said the 35-year-old who also performed at the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall for a few times prior to the refurbishment in 2010: “Coming to Singapore for the past 15 years, I grew together with the country. Food has always been amazing, regardless of the heat and humidity. I love the cleanliness and safeness of this country, it allows everyone to focus on pursuing aspirations.”

Singapore is one of the 15 countries in which recipients of The Adam Gyorgy Foundation supports. The Adam Gyorgy Castle Academy in Hungary and The Adam Gyorgy Island Academy in Indonesia have educated students from leading music conservatories from all over the world, including the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

“Singapore has an amazing culture, people are very open to classical music, and the educational initiatives are world class. As a performer and a teacher, coming to Singapore always gives me a special thrill. Teachers are excellent and students are always open to learn more and be better. The conditions are outstanding for music education”, noted Adam.

More than just a world-famous classical pianist dedicated to philanthropy and pedagogy, Adam has also lent his experiences as a footballer, cyclist, entrepreneur to events like TEDx and international channels such as BBC, CNN, DigiSport and many more.
